FEES

Transparent Fees

Every client deserves clarity when it comes to legal fees. Andrew Green Law provides services on a fixed-fee or hourly-fee basis, as those arrangements are described by the Law Society of Alberta. How your matter will be billed is explained at the outset, before any work begins.

Fixed Fees

Used when the work involved is known in advance with reasonable certainty, so you know the cost from the start. Where a matter changes substantially, the fee is discussed with you before it is adjusted.

Hourly Fees

Used when the time and work a matter will require cannot be known in advance. Time spent on your file is recorded and billed at an hourly rate.

Fixed-Fee Services

Fixed fees for common family law and disability law services are published here so you can see the cost before you call.

Please note: Disbursements are not included in the fees above, and disbursements must be paid directly to third parties by the client. There may be additional costs for commissioning. Because services are provided remotely, commissioning of documents is the client’s responsibility. For documents such as separation agreements, each party must be separately represented in order to receive independent legal advice. Andrew Green Law can represent only one party.

What to Expect

No contingency arrangements. Andrew Green Law does not act on a contingency basis, meaning fees are never a percentage of an amount recovered or tied to the outcome of your matter.

Disbursements and retainers. Andrew Green Law does not require retainers. Disbursements are the out-of-pocket costs of your matter, such as court filing fees, and are the responsibility of the client.
